The new generation of TVs

As aspected most of the major companies (Samsung Electronics, Samsung SDI, LG Electronics, LG.Philips LCD and Neoview Kolon) are investing in this new OLED technology, which should replace the current LCD and plasma screens panels in the long term, becoming the new norm for digital displays.

OLED – organic light-emitting diodes is the new technology that is used for creating better TVs.

The primary benefit of OLED displays over traditional LCDs is that OLEDs do not require a backlight to function, and consume less power during operation. OLED displays are expected to be more efficiently manufactured than LCDs and plasma displays.

Until now Sony manage to create a 11 inch TV screen and LG announced for this november to show us the 15 inch TV screen that they’ve been working to.
